Inching Along...
Well, according to my handy dandy countdown clock, I've only 19 days, 1 hour and sundry minutes till I leave my current day job. YESSSSSS! :-D

Or, as Mum and Socially Inept tell me, if I only count the actual weekdays, it is 14 days... which would be true were it not for the fact that at any given time, I might be required to work weekends, as was the case over the past few months.

The new job status is as follows:

- The prospective employer is indeed checking on my references. My present boss was interrogated a few days ago; she says she was surprised not to be asked some things she usually gets asked about former employees.

On the other hand, my other references apparently have not yet been contacted.

- I assume my schooling plus other professional credentials are being checked; I was asked to provide contact information for one of my universities.

- My salary would be lower than what I'm currently making but a signing bonus has made up the difference (ie, no change). I can accept that for now, especially since I'll be less stressed and will apparently be able to set my own work hours (within reason).

- I should receive a written offer in a week or so; my prospective boss has already welcomed me informally. The rest will need to come from HR.

Thanks so much to all of you, me mum, Belle, Socially Inept, and my references for supporting and encouraging me during the chaos and uncertainty.

Massive MWAHs and hugs to you all.
