    As far as I'm concerned, those online petitions are only made to do spam, as I don't think any government would care about the opinion of a foreigner on the internet...

    PS: Nevertheless that's sad to hear, yet that's life over here..

    Tea, thank you very much for this. And to answer Shnubelhopper's point. You are right - this may do nothing but raising an issue like this and getting people talking about it does sometimes lead to media coverage ( I deal with the media here at times) and may assist. The worst that people can do is nothing. Activism is not always rewarding but it is important and caring about your neighbours - ie folk around the world - is kind of like your definition of the meaning of life on Seb's site - ie to love others.
    I hope this doesn't sound like a lecture - I promise it isn't.
