Insult to Injury
The decimation of my department continues.

Let's recap:

1 editor gone.

1 going.

And now...

1 more gone.

Half my day staff is gone or going. We are now down to 3.

*weeping*

But not all is lost in my little world.

No.

Although the lamp post on my street remains lampless, and the base now has grafitti on it, the chopped down street sign has been reattached.

I have my biannual eye check up tomorrow. I expect I'll need new glasses since I can't see well with and without my old pair.

My meeting with the recruiter was rescheduled so I'm meeting him on Friday.

I might go see X-Men Friday night. Socially Inept is keen to go, but Mum says she can wait for the 10-day period for when the discount tickets go into effect.

Mum is taking me to another charity concert on Saturday. I'm going to see The Bodies exhibition next weekend with ETC. Whooo hooo! Gotta go get tickets Friday.

This is a holiday weekend.

I can't wait to see what happens next week.

Oh, wait. Yes, I can.

I already know what's coming and it's not pretty.

Better be hanging out near the lifeboats when that ship sinks...

And the lightpost - it is just a thing let it go. Don't beat yourself up over having cut it down out of anguish over your life!! Ok, the spray painting was a little over the top, maybe you should seek professional help, you crazy little monkey you!!!

Sorry, just being an ass, I'll move along quietly now...

That's terrible, Tea. I hope things start looking up soon. I know Patrick Stewart always makes me feel better.

Thinking about whacking Patrick Stewart in the head with a Louisville slugger make me feel better.

    Milles mercis, Charlie.

PK, the lifeboats sunk before the ship. Good thing I know how to swim... now all I have to worry about are the sharks and sunstroke. *shudder*

Have I mentioned it's weekend work from here on out?...

Okay, it's true; I was the one who spraypainted the base of the lightpost. At least I was couth and used no profanities.

And how did you know I'm a monkey?! Oh, right: homo sapiens sapiens and chimps. Gotcha. ;-)

Thanks, Sarah. I like Patrick Stewart's voice and he was a fine Borg, but Denzel Washington and Clive Owen are MINE. LOL.

    T&B

#2 son went to The Bodies exhibit recently. He found it all very interesting in his art brain way, however, he found the areas with women and with babies quite disturbing, I think he actually had a bit of vertigo. Let us know how it affects you.

Oh, Lord, at least in the middle of the sea of awfulnesses, you are getting tix to the Bodies exhibit - hooray!! Have fun where you can, and best wishes for surviving everything else.

Heya, Suz, thanks muchly. Trying to keep my head above water but not doing so good. :-O Maybe seeing the Bodies exhibition will help, lol. Hope you're doing much better. :-)

FairSCaPe: Got the tix! Did #2 son see it in Atlanta?

A lot of people apparently have found the women and fetuses part of the exhibitions disturbing, and that would be natural. I, on the other hand, am unnatural and cadavers have never been a problem for me.

Of course, I have to qualify this by saying that I've not seen many cadavers that were the results of extreme violence. I think that would be a different story altogether. I'll let you know how it goes.
