I've Actually Been Productive...Sort of
Yes, I got up early (8 am) and did some work...and, as usual, it wasn't housework, so for those of you actually following this, no, I still haven't done my laundry, and yes, the bucket is piled chest high. :-O

[contents deleted; for full post, go here.]

Let me tell you: writing letters to authors, new or previously published, is a tough thing to do. Really hard work. As with editing and constructive criticism, you always want to make sure you get your points across as clearly as possible and yet not crush someone or step on their toes. Then this whole medium, e-mail, like snail mail, doesn't always convey the tone you want to convey and there's always the possibility of causing offense where none was meant. If someone knows you, you're usually okay, but with total strangers...tricky, tricky, tricky.

So, how do I get around this? Practice, practice, practice. Or, in my case, drafts, drafts, drafts. You think authors have it tough with drafts? They've got nothing on me, lol. To read this blog, you wouldn't think so, but I actually do rewrite letters and e-mails to those I'm unfamiliar with ad infinitum. I'm constantly afraid that I'll manage to miswrite something that will be taken the wrong way. Paranoid? Oh, sure, but when you consider that I have to send professional letters to clients or others, you can see why I can't afford to be careless.

Now that I think about it, I was actually productive last night and can't credit it to today. Rats! Foiled again! lol.

What I have on my list of to do's:

- laundry (!!) x 100

- bills (!) x $$$$

- snail mail x 4

- sleep, eat, and be merry x ;o)
