Yes, Yes, I'm Still Here...

Before I get to posting, I just wanted to thank everyone who’s been faithfully clicking at the Breast Cancer Site daily. Although the goal of 750 mammograms wasn’t met, the total of 621 was not at all shabby! We fell short by only 129! Thank you so much!

And just so you know, the Breast Cancer Site program remains a continuing program, so please keep clicking once daily, not just for the free mammograms for underprivileged women, but also for free books at the Literacy Site, free food at the Hunger Site, free health services for children at the Child Health Site, free food for animals at the Animal Rescue Site, as well as help to save our rainforests at the Rainforest Site.

All of these programs are at no cost to you and take only a few seconds to click each. Thanks in advance for your help! (And, in case you were wondering, I am not affiliated with any of these sites in any way; that also goes for the other charities listed in my sidebar.)

Okay, so it’s been a week and I’ve not posted a thing. Yeah, yeah, I see all your accusing and disapproving eyes. Sniff. :’0(

It’s been a busy few weeks. The day job continues to be chaotic and I’ve been staying late for the most part, and even going in on the weekend at one point. Yes, an editor’s job is never done. Who would’ve thunk it, huh?

I’ve added some more authors (print books) and charities to my links. I will be alphabetizing the author links according to last names once I have a chance. In case you were wondering why I didn’t do that in the first place, I was in too much of a hurry just to get them posted and did the lazy shortcut thing, which was alphabetizing them by first names. Never fear, it will all make sense… at some point.

So, my favorite time of year is fast speeding by, and my favorite celebration, Hallowe’en, has come and gone. My sole celebration was to be decked out entirely in orange and black (well, sexy red undergarments, too, but we won’t discuss them), skulls and bats adorning all of my ear holes, and a teensy, cute, witch adorning my ponytail, which was courtesy of a friend. I even had orange moccasins on my feet. :-D

So, what else have I been occupied by…

[contents deleted; for full post, go here.]

Chicken Little is out any day now, and I must say, I’m almost shocked to see how funny it looks from the trailers. I haven’t been enamored of Disney’s animated pictures for quite some time (Pixar films are a totally different matter entirely) because they all look so commercial and, well, fake. Yeah, yeah, don’t kill me, all you The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Aladdin, Lion King, etc, fans. Those films weren’t bad but I didn’t like the look of them, okay? Totally not my style.

However, I’m SO looking forward to seeing the movie version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. And it’s going to show on IMAX, too! Of the 6 books currently released, this book and The Prisoner of Azkaban are by far my favorites. If you haven’t fallen in love with the magical world of Potter, either because you haven’t read the books or you did read them and can’t see what all the fuss is about, then I can’t possibly explain. You either get it or you don’t.

No idea where I’ve stashed all my Chronicles of Narnia books -- and if you know me, then this totally doesn’t astound you, and if you don’t, then let me just say I have books upon books upon books upon books, etc -- but I’m also panting to see the movie version of the first book, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Can’t say I groove into the whole religion aspect of it, more like the fantasy and adventure portions.

Then there’s my upcoming vacation… can you see how my grin stretches from here to yonder and how my teeth gleam ever so brilliantly? If not, that’s ‘cause you’ve undoubtedly been blinded by its glare. Heh. Ahem.

I’m just a-countin’ down the days…
