UNICEF and Relief International
Some of you will have noticed that I've added these two charities to my sidebar. I thank you in advance for any contributions you might give, whether it is money or time or supplies, etc.

UNICEF is an awesome charity specifically aimed at helping the underprivileged children of the world and they've been doing a very good job for a very long time with very little at times. Their motto is "For every child health, education, equality, and protection. Advance humanity."

Every year, I get a beautiful UNICEF gift catalog (which you can download) filled with wonderful and scrumptious stationery (YEE HAW!) and other lovely gifts. A few dollars can do so much good, including basic necessities and needed immunizations. Please check out the UNICEF site and gift catalog. You'll love what they're doing and offering, and you'll be helping the most needy children everywhere.

Currently, UNICEF is focusing on emergency relief for the children affected by the Southeast Asia earthquake, which primarily struck Pakistan and India.

To donate to UNICEF online click here.

To donate by mail,
print out this form and send it with a check or money order payable to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to:

Relief International is a US-based organization started in 1990 but as its name implies, it doesn't cover disaster relief in just one country or region but around the world. You probably heard of them after the terrible tsunami that hit Asia just off Northern Sumatra in the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004: hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives.

The 2 current major disasters they are seeking aid for are the Southeast Asia earthquake, and Hurricane Katrina, which swept destruction through the southern United States.

Here is information from their Website --

To help provide relief to victims of the earthquake in Pakistan, please make monetary donations by phone, mail or online. 95% of all private contributions directly benefit survivors through direct aid on the ground.
