Nonsensical Dreams
I dreamt that I was in London, though it's been many years since I've been there. Rather than the crowds that normally fill the streets, the area was oddly quiet, with a few people scattered here and there, as if it were early morning. Yet the sky was clear and the sun almost, but not quite, overhead.

I walked quite briskly up and down the streets, fruitlessly searching for the booksellers on Charing Cross or Oxford or Picadilly... in my dream, they all ran together seamlessly, like a never-ending stretch of road. So I continued to wander through London, somehow in the right neighborhoods but no booksellers to be seen. The buildings and storefronts were blank, without windows, as if they hid behind brick and mortar, refusing to divulge their secrets.

I remember that a man, someone familiar and yet a stranger, kept trying to thwart me. I didn't feel threatened (it wasn't that sort of dream), but while I knew then the reason he was trying to divert me, the why's and wherefore's escape me now. Indeed, I can't recall his face either, but he wore a top hat and clothing reminiscent of the 1800s. Decidedly odd.

I remember, too, that I hurried past Harrod's to avoid being dragged inside by a salesperson, or even Mr. Al-Fayed himself. Not that he would do such a thing, much less to a nobody like me, but that is the way of dreams, after all. I saw no other personages of note, which isn't much of a surprise, really. Still, funnily enough, I kept craning my head and looking for Princess Fuff and His Royal Majesty, Seb.

Goodness, FC! I had no idea the beta version of the bloog does the nasty with systems. I do hope the Google powers that be are working to fix this!
