| The Synchronicity of Time... |
In a few hours, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06. That won't ever happen again.
I got this from two sources today. One was the lovely Ann Lory, who has written a wonderful vampire story, Eternal Embrace, which will be the first in a series, and the second was a coworker.
At any rate, the first thought through my head wasn't, "Oh, isn't that coolio!" or "Wow, maybe I'll wait up for it to happen."
No. The only thing I was thinking was that some people obviously have waaaay more time on their hands than I do, and I really need to find out who they are so I can switch places with them.
Grrr.
Correction
2 more coworkers sent this to me... long after the fact, of course. |

Duplicating comment re: The Sea of Red Ink... heheheh I’m just waiting for the god of all things serendipitous to come down and aggressively thump us all on the head for not being more appreciative of little things like this… I figure punishment would be something like a thump on the head – perhaps a scob your noggin’ kind of thing… or maybe an Indian burn…

Amy, I hate to break it to you, but I think it's already begun. The end is nigh. :-O
-
Yes, way too much time on their hands.
-
Doesn't hat have something to do with the devil, or the combination to the airlock in Druidia and the president of the Spaceball's luggage combination? Too much Mel Brooks, I suppose...

Actually, that email (which I received from multiple sources too) uses the US date abbreviation style of month-day-year.
But using the European style of day-month-year, this WILL happen again: On May 4, 2006 (04-05-06).
Is that a "Groundhog Day" moment?
-
Suz, you got there before me. I was just about to niggle Tea with that titbit myself. Of course, Tea is right in the sense that, whichever date system you adhere to, it can only ever happen once for you, although you can witness it happening for others.
-
My advice would be to stay busy. People with too much time on their hands start to come out with the kind of drivel I do, that makes sense only to the one who creates it.
On the subject of combinations; your WV is coming up with some very odd, looong types :)

All:
As is the usual case with such e-mails, the originator tends to make sweeping assumptions, including that all recipients will be from wherever the send is. In this case, the never again comment probably was referring to never again using the US time system.
As many of you have pointed out, the UK and international time system will come across 01:02:03 04/05/06 on May 4 of this year.
PK: Please tell me you do not dabble in the wicked, dark arts... :-O Lol. I never saw Spaceballs, sadly enough.
Suz: Indeed, Groundhog Day Redux! We should write Bill Murray, I think. :-D
Seb: Yes, it's all egocentric. Because it is all about me, after all. *coughing up my appendix*
Dirk: I'm afraid none of us will be around to see the 3006 phenomena. Unless we are immortal vampires, in which case, this will have happened many many times for us already and would therefore merely engender rolling of our eyes and a shrug. ;-)
Fuff: *sobbing* But I'm already busy! And I don't come up with this type of stuff. I think that those that do spew these things are the ones that need to get busier. Like take over my job and I'll take theirs. :-D
Re the wv; let me take it off again and see what happens. I find the length is hit and miss, sometimes fiendishly long, sometimes shortish.
(Huh. My wv today is "pgaxnrc," which makes me think "pagan," which harkens back to PK's mention of the devil... eep!)
