Technology and Me -- On Opposite Poles
Have I mentioned technology hates me? And the feeling is almost -- almost -- mutual.

Those folks unfortunate enough to know me personally, face to face, have been aware of this truth for many years and, now, lucky you, you get to be the recipient of my whining, too. >:-O

I don't watch TV. (Hey! Come back! I am normal! I swear!) Although if I had cable, it'd be History Channel, The Cartoon Network, Discovery Channel, etc, 24/7. That is, until the screen blew out with the cathode tubes.

It took me about 6 years to get a Walkman.

I was probably one of the final few people in the last century to get a CD player... and I didn't actually purchase it. A friend bought me a nice system.

There are only about 5 DVDs in my home.

iPod? What's an iPod?

Flat screens? Are those, like, uh, flat?

MACs. PCs... Inventions of the Dark Powers.

Cash registers, ATMs, credit card swipers, online transactions... Playgrounds of gremlins.

Credit cards, debit cards, store cards, gift cards... Victims of aforementioned gremlins, magnets, and hungry machines, and victimizers of cash-strapped consumers.
